If You Are A Business or Organisation

Businesses and organisations that would like to identify with the goals of IBYFM can do so in a number of ways, ranging from the subtle to the more obvious. Here a couple of ideas:

  1. Display an IBYFM sticker—either virtually or physically. We are currently looking for businesses and organisations that would be happy to put a small IBYFM sticker on their front window/door or reception desk in support of refugees. The sticker features an image of a boat stencil, designed by our resident artist Ry Wilkin of are/why?, and includes the words: We’re On Board. The sticker has been purposefully designed to be subtle in its connotations, relying on the image to act as a discreet symbol of welcome and solidarity.

In addition, or as an alternative, we can also send you a virtual copy of the sticker for you to upload to your website and to share on your social media page. Displaying the We’re On Board badge will indicate your affiliation with IBFYM in principle.

If you would like a sticker, please send an email with the subject header Sticker to hello@yourfirstmate.org. In the body of the email, please include the following information:

  • Whether you want a physical sticker, an electronic sticker, or both
  • Your business name
  • A contact person’s name
  • Your postal and email addresses

We will send your sticker(s) promptly!

  1. Display Art in Your Office or Shop: All visual art submissions have the option of being sold as prints, with all proceeds going to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. If you are interested in purchasing framed prints or artworks to liven up your office or shop walls, please email us at hello@yourfirstmate.org. We can send you an up-to-date gallery of visual artworks available.

If you are a café or venue that hosts moving exhibitions for its customers, we can also discuss the possibility of making available a number of framed prints for display in your business. A sale price would be given for each print with 100% of the proceeds going to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Please email us at hello@yourfirstmate.org if you are interested in this option.
